Biographical history
Aunque se constituye el 25 de junio de 1932, la Secretaría General de Gobierno sólo se proyecta públicamente a comienzos de los setenta. Hasta entonces, sus funciones se limitaban a la coordinación interna del Consejo de Gabinete.
Durante el Gobierno del Presidente Salvador Allende, aumenta su protagonismo en la escena política nacional, al asumir crecientemente funciones de vocería pública a través del Secretario General.
